Tours of the Pilsen Historical Underground for schools

We welcome school groups to tour the Pilsen Historical Underground and have prepared for them the special pricelist shown below.

You can book a tour for your class for any time during opening hours. The last tour at the standard entry fee always starts 1 hour before the end of opening times.

Tours of the Pilsen Historical Underground outside opening hours are possible on the basis of prior agreement and for an extra fee according to the latest pricelist.

Practical information about the tour for school groups

  • The length of the tour is about 50 minutes.
  • The tour is held only with a guide and commentary is provided in Czech, English or German.
  • The maximum size of a group is 20 persons. If your group is larger, it will be split up into smaller groups.
  • We recommend visitors wear warm clothing at any time of the year as the temperature underground stays around +6 °C.
  • Parking for buses is offered for free on the premises of the Pilsner Urquell brewery (around 10 mins on foot) or for a fee in the Na Rychtářce car park (2 mins’ walk).

Booking tours for school groups

  • Tours can be booked via the reservation form, by telephone, fax or email a minimum of three working days before the planned visit.
  • If the group is delayed it is necessary to notify us of this on tel. no. +420 377 235 574 or +420 724 618 357. The guide will wait 30 minutes past the agreed time, after which the group will be charged CZK 150 for every started hour.

We also recommend school groups visit the Brewery Museum’s educational program and the standard tour of the museum.

 

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR SCHOOLS

The tour of the Pilsen Historical Underground can be expanded with the educational programs that the Brewery Museum organises for pupils of primary and secondary schools.

Forgotten crafts

Students can learn about long forgotten traditional crafts such as the carrier’s trade, cooperage and ice making.

Chapters from the history of the town of Pilsen I

How to build a town – Students improve their knowledge of the history of not only the town of Pilsen in a fun and interactive way. Thanks to the unique 3D wooden models, they will have the opportunity to build Pilsen and understand the dynamics and development of the town.

Chapters from the history of the town of Pilsen II

How people lived in a medieval town – As the title states, this program takes students to a medieval town, the atmosphere of which is perfectly conjured up by the old-fashioned Brewery Museum building. The guide will acquaint children with the history and development of everyday activities of people.
